Goals

Government funded overseas program to support university students(youth) to develop one's core competency and global insight through language and internship training in U.S.

Targets

  • Korean Citizens
  • Students of universities located in Korea who have completed their 4th(4-year university)/2nd(2 year university) semester or have graduated within a year.

Qualifications

 Internship(8~12)months and Travel(month)
  1. Higher than TOEIC 750 or G-TELP Level 2 70
  2. Higher than OPIc IL or TOEIC Speaking 110 or G-TELP Speaking Level 6
12-month
Program
Language Training(3)months,
 Internship(6~8)months and Travel(month)
  1. Higher than TOEIC 800 or G-TELP Level 2 76
  2. Higher than OPIc IL or TOEIC Speaking 110 or G-TELP Speaking Level 6
6-month
Program
Language Training(2)months,
 Internship(3~4)months and Travel(month)
  1. Higher than TOEIC 850
  2. Higher than TOEIC Speaking 130 or OPIc IM1
  • Both ①~② should be fulfilled, and all test results must be within the validity period at the time of submission
  • Those who have participated WEST Program in the past are not eligible to apply.

Selection Process

Application submission on Worldjob website(http://www.worldjob.or.kr) → Application screening → Candidate interview → Final selection

    • Check your Income Level(KOSAF)

    (Assign Sponsor)
  4. 4. Second Candidate Interview(Sponsor)
    • Submit additional 
    • documents to assigned sponsor
    • Video interview
  5. 5. Final Selection
    Notice of language institution and program fee
  6. 6. Payment
    Pay your program fee to KOSAF
  7. 7. Visa Interview Appointment
    Make appointment for your visa interview with SEVIS number
  8. 8. Orientation
    Online courses, preliminary(on-site) training
  9. 9. J-1 Visa Interview
    Visa Interveiw at the U.S. Embassy Seoul
  10. 10. Departure
    Individual departure to the U.S.
